Partially correct. The Coupe WAS AVAILABLE here in the United States as a special order from '96-'01 as well. There are very few of them, but they are here. Including a nice Grand Prix White / Tan 2001 NSX that I would love to have.

Agreed...I cannot remember what he does or did do, but he can pretty much spend anything he wants and be okay. His car is an example of how to do a conversion truly the right way. Money being no object....conversion perfection. I would love to see his car and someday own it.

All 2002 + US NSXs were targa tops. However, there are NA2 coupe and targas. NA2 started either in 97 or 98.

Putting the top on makes it stiffer. On the road, you won't notice much of a difference either way. I can't speak about the track. Both on and off, the targa won't creak or rattle.
