I would ask this question on NSX prime, i'm sure you'd get better clarification there. As far as coupe's, they did make non-targa coupe versions in the early-mid 90's. Coupe's were always avail. over-seas, but in the late 90's through the 2000's cars, targa's were the only option offered. Obviously a coupe offers a little more structural rigidity than the targa.

All 2002 + US NSXs were targa tops. However, there are NA2 coupe and targas. NA2 started either in 97 or 98.
Putting the top on makes it stiffer. On the road, you won't notice much of a difference either way. I can't speak about the track. Both on and off, the targa won't creak or rattle.
