You know, at the end of the day it's still a VW. After watching 3 spontaneously burst into flames and burn totally to the ground plus having to help my daughter and my son have to continually fight electrical, AC, starting and window gremlins on 3 different VWs I can't imagine this car will appeal to many beyond diehard VW fanbois

Hey...even at $40K I would consider it. I am not a fan of the 370Z which I guess would be the only competitive car to this one, at least in terms of price. I expect the biggest hurdle VW might have is convincing people to pay this much for a sports car with a 4 cylinder engine--although that wasn't too much of a problem for Honda.

No they don't. A TT with a Sport Package is about 42k. Base of around 37k.

I would think it would have to be less than forty. If it will be the baby Boxster it will be less than a base Boxster, and have to be more than the VW so that probably says mid to low thirties. If that is the price range I would consider it as my next toy, more than $35k and you're are talking about low milage certified Cayman S territory.

Don't know if I will be in the market for one anytime soon, but this is exciting news and I'm glad to hear it.
I would venture to guess this car, in its top trim, will be mid thirties (and possibly pushing 40k, fully loaded up).

But, if I had to choose based on reliability and durability, I'd pick the Nissan every time. And the 3.7L VQHR engine in the 370Z is a beautiful NA six. And Nissan has created the rev matching downshift manual transmission. And the 370Z has a fully automatic top. I'm torn between buying out my my lease on the S2000 when it ends next May or switching to a 370Z roadster in black cherry.

Plus it's for unworthy tards that can't heel-toe.
