interesting that you must have missed the part they said about the steering also being "terrificly direct"

what do you expect anyway? that they should develop a completely unique set of parts for one limited edition car that may not even be released even though they have a vast parts bin with some good proven quality to pull from?

lets just say if they actually did that the car would end up being a lot more money and then no one would even consider buying it because its "just a VW"

My wife's Jetta has great steering feel - much better than the S2000, in fact. I'd have no problem seeing that steering mech ported over to a sports car.

VW could come out with a 1000 hp roaster for $20 and I would buy it. VW has consistently been in the bottom 3 of all manufacturers for reliability for the past 25 years solid. A car company with that record is not something I want to deal with.
