Default Volvo s60r's

Ok,

I'm considering the purchase of a new '04 Volvo s60r. (What I really want is a s2000 sedan.... but oh well) The performance specs are pretty darn close to my '01 s2k, but I'd get the added value of taking others with me on the journey.

I first drove the automatic. Yuck! The performance was terrible. So I drove a couple of the sticks. Much, much better, and amazingly close in performance to the S2k.

Thought I'd post and find out what everyone thinks of the high performance Volvo....

i'm sorry, but unless it weighs under 3000lbs (which for a volvo i'd bet my liver and s2000 it doesnt), don't say its close in performance to an s2k.

I also have my eye on the S60R ... I've been in a couple car accidents (the serious one not in the S2000) and I absolutely have nothing bad to say about that car, just praises.

I love the sound of volvo engines. They were aiming this acar to compete against the M3. It falls short of the M but it's still a good car. Love the tan seats too.

All reviews of volvo's pretty much are unanimous in the decision that at every price point there are better cars available. People who buy volvo's (i used to have one) do it more as a need/want to be different not because the car is better: see Mac users!!

There are better performers, more reliable cars, cars with more luxury, safer cars, and more then a few that do all these things better that cost the same or are cheaper then a corresponding volvo. While, they sorta hold a special place in my heart (even though mine was a piece of $hit) I would never buy one again!
