I would surely crash if I drive this car. Anyone less than a pro would surely crash and burn.

nah. It's supposed to be pretty easy to drive compared to other uber-performance cars. You just don't push it to the edge. At 8/10s it's still faster then most anything out there.

Streetable means you can drive it daily to work or take a 300 mile trip in it without wanting to shoot yourself within ten miles.
I know a dude that daily drives a 500 FWD car. To him, this viper would be a step toward luxury. lol.

Also, plenty of people drive their EF, EG, and EK Civics to autocross and road race meets. Most that are serious have at least 700lb/ in springs in the rear to induce some weight transfer by way of a rear biased roll couple.

Hell, my Miata has 500lb springs in the front and I don't have a problem driving it on the streets. Now, I do have the greatest dampers in the history of the universe, but that's another matter altogether.

Well that's great if you like to hang out with the masses of retards on the street showing off, but in the track world 8/10ths is just wasting your time.

All this Need For Speed fantasy of "ooh but this Corvette can beat that Viper with some parts from my cousin Tony and blah, blah, blah...." needs to enter the real world. If anyone campaigning all this bench racing stupidity could drive one of these uber-sleds to within even several seconds of a real driver, I'd eat my firesuit.

Take your average driver who's never been to the track and never driven a car with more than 250 lb. ft. of torque, put them on a track in a Viper, and tell them to impress you. They'll go around under power before you can say "I told you so".

as far as I know this is the only reason. basically anything r-compound is not passable. could also be our super strict bumper laws that prevented the Evo from coming here before the EVO X as well.

its pretty stupid if you ask me because this is such a limited production car anyway....I actually totally agree with every one defending the daily driving characteristics...it can definitely be just as streetable as many other road legal supercars....you may wanna remove the front splitter which is supposed to be super easy to do.
i think the rules here have changed if I'm not mistaken... i think our standards mirror that of the U.S now. Previous gen evo's weren't allowed because they failed our 8 kph bumper crash test because of the intercooler being to damaged same goes with the VW R32. But now you are allowed to import these cars into the country. I know this because my friend has a legal EVO and have a few friends with legal R32's. They did it the legal way not simply registering it as a base model car.

Again I'm not entirely sure on the subject and might completely off on this just saying what I heard from my friends.

As far as that ACR goes it so badass and I've always been a huge fan of vipers. Such a big car with a massive motor but can handle corners better then most its pretty amazing.

yah, i definitely wouldn't tell them to impress me. It's always scary instructing a novice or intermediate driver in a high hp/torque car.

driving 8/10s is a waste of time in that it won't teach you car control etc, because you won't need to control anything. But, I still would rather have people who have bought too much car to take it too the track and at least attempt to learn to drive. It is a better idea to learn on a lower HP car so you can test the limits without going 150mph+, but some people just buy their 'dream' car and I would rather then at least attempt to learn to drive it well. But, I admit most don't and just talk about other people's driving prowess.

i for one do find it hard to believe the car would be easy to drive...as even @ 8/10ths the car simply does not produce the level of grip the car does full out. when you have a car that generates this much down force it is pretty hard to define 8/10ths.
