used s2000 or 330ci as my daily driver

How about a Civic Si sedan? Fun but frugal.
W/ a kid on the way, your priorities and disposable income will change beyond what you might imagine.
At any rate, the 330 makes a much better DD than an S2000.

I'd go with a larger car, the main reason, or at least claim, I see on craigslist for s2000s being sold down here is that a kid is on the way or the economy has them down.
I'd go with the relaxing car where you can put a child seat in the back for the kid, but its your decision. I grew up being driven everywhere in minivans, and now I hate minivans . Size will matter if you have more than one kid, and you will want to do more stuff as a family as the kid grows up to be 4+ years old. (Kids don't remember stuff from the time they are 2, but potty training helps kids gain self-esteem intro psychology course...)

Given your list of past "had" cars, I will say that you might be surprised by the maintenance cost when it comes to the BMW. But on the other hand, I don't know your financial ability.
In short, I will say both are not so good choices. Now, I'm not saying Dodge is a crappy car reliability wise........ ......., but when it breaks, it might be hard to get your family around with the S2000, unless you have one more family car regardless if that is a beater or not. And BMW for its high maintenance cost.

I currently own both an '05 BMW 330ci (my DD) and an '06 Honda S2000 (wife's DD). Anyone that says a BMW is boring to drive has never driven one. Both are definitely exciting cars to drive. The S2000 can get pedestrian in the city due to the lack of torque. Honestly, they are very different cars. I give the BMW the nod over the S2000 as my daily driver. But... since you already own a sedan, why not get something completely different and go with the S2000. I have a feeling if you go for the BMW, I'll end up wanting to sell your Charger; whereas, if you buy the S2000, the Charger will still have its place. How's that for unbiased?

SI 4 Door with a JRSC is a good idea maybe?
