Hmmm... What a choice, that really ugly car, or anything else that $1 million can buy... A Ferarri and a beach house... A GT3 and condo at Aspen... or maybe a Lamborghini and an airplane! What the H is VW thinking? Is someone crazy blind rich person really going to buy that thing?

Of course they are. If they're willing to plunk down for an ugly-ass CLK GTR for well north of 1 mill, they'll buy the Veyron, which is far more beautiful.

Those 4 lights on the front aren't intended to be stock, and i guarantee they will not be on the finished product..

don't really like the way it looks...front grille is ugly. are the back tires wide enough any #'s on the car like 0-60 etc etc??
I have heard sub 3 second 0-60 and 0-128 in 6 flat. I mean, the Ford RS200 Evolution was able to do 0-60 in the 2's with less power, so I guess it is possible. You have to take all these figures with a grain of salt, though, because they have had to change the car sooo many times in the past few years. Pischetsrieder has even said that the car was a mistake and when he drove it a few months ago he said it didn't even come close to deserving the Bugatti name at that point (I'm sure that has changed over the past few months, though)

Can I ask something,
Why has it taken SOOOOOOOOO da** long to actually build this car? It seems like i first saw this thing back in 98 or 99? Someone correct me on this but i swear it has been a very long time for this car to develop. Can anyone tell me when the first pics of it started popping up?

If you actually read my post, you'd see when they first came out with Veyron.

And it took VW so long to develop this car because the engine generates tremendous amount of heat. They kept having cooling problems, and that's why VW kept holding back the release date.

They also kept having problems building a transmission to handle the prodigous amounts of torque the engine provides. Basically, they kept shattering parts of the drivetrain. 1001 hp is nothing to sneeze at on a stock vehicle...

Good lord, those rear tires. First car to have over 1000hp from the factory, and first car to come tubbed from the factory!
