Turbo my S2k, or keep it and buy another $35k car?
So the wife and I have a Passat (great roomy DD) and an S2000. It's a 2003 GPW with a hardtop and volks and we both love it. It's basically stock with just an intake and exhaust. After we talked it over, we decided to keep the S2000 and add another car to the stable for less than $35k. At that price range I was looking for something gnarly like a C6 Z06 or a Boss 302. A car with an american V8 in it seems like the yin to the S2000's yang.
I was also thinking about the alternative option of going forced induction (either turbo or supercharger) on the S2000. That would hopefully come in at around $10k, so it would be "cheaper" than another car, but honestly I'd consider that to be an almost immediate loss of at least 50% of the value of the parts if I sold the S2000, whereas I'd be able to sell the $35k car in a year or two for a much smaller hit.
So what would you do, and why? For what it's worth, I work from home, so the S2000 is my "daily driver" but I don't drive daily, so it (or the $35k car) could both potentially be obnoxious to drive and that would be fine. Any long trips will be in the Passat. I'd definitely like to hear from people who have gone FI on their S2000's to get some first hand feedback.

I'd go for the Z06 before the Boss unless I needed a backseat.
Boosting the S would be fun of course. It is an idea I have thought about before but I decided that bolt ons and a tune was enough for me. I just can't fathom dailying a boosted S. The Z06 is fast as shit out of the box and and can make close to 500whp with bolt ons. I have heard of a few engines dropping valves 100% stock though.

Any criteria other than $35k? You could probably get an '08 ISF with around 50k on the odo, which is nothing for a Lexus. There's your V8 right there, and you would have a long trip alternative to the Passat.

I'd have a hard time going for an IS-F when M3's are available for the same price. I liked our E92 M3 a lot, but its a little too civilized for what I'm looking for. We've got the DD covered, I want something wild. I've gotten to drive a C6 Z06 and it was definitely wild. Haven't found a dealership that will hand me the keys of a Boss yet though.

Also, looks like the "turbo the S" option is getting smacked down in the poll. I figured it wasn't the best option. Thanks everyone for the unbiased opinions.
