Yea if your to scared to get on Highway you SHOULD NOT have a litter bike at all man.
I dont know where you get your numbers for boosting your S man, it is NO where near 10k man. You can get a whole turbo kit for around 5k depending on what your number goal is.
I have both I have a fully built s2 boosted and stroked and I also have a 07 R6 and I love it man. I am used to the bike and can throw it around and drag knee all day. It has more than enough power as it does want to throw me off when I pin it and it gets over 10k and VTEC kicks in lol its hard to hold on. A r6 is just as good as a r1 only differnece is a r1 gets to 180 a little bit faster than a r6. But your asking two totally different paths as well. A bike and boosting a S is two different things entirely, like one guy said previously there is nothing like my 500+whp S that looks relativly stock and smash on v8 supercharged mustangs and cobras and camarros all day long, its gotta be one of my favorite things seeing there faces. Or dusting all the wanna be ricers who wanna race everybody and not even downshifting a killing them.
But in the end its your money and your call, but it doesnt cost 10k to turbo your s man so there goes your r1 anyway lol Also full coverage insurance on a financed bike which is required depending on what state your in is not cheap especially on a 1000. Also being young (assuming you are idk) doesnt make it any better and they also look at how long you have had your motorcycle license as well. Good luck to ya either way.

I never stop thinking about riding.... even after a car hit me and broke my femur, but that's just me. Its hard to change a molded mind.
And taking a bike on the track is one of the greatest things I believe a person should experience in their life, both 1/4 mile and road racing.
