Default TSX + S2000 or 135i?

Since the site is acting up and this is the third time I'm trying to post something I'll get right to it!

I want the ultimate car setup. I am not rich so I can't pay cash for all the cars I want. I live in the Upper Midwest so I need something practical to use in the snowy months. I've always loved the S and next year for my birthday I want to buy a sports car. I currently have a 06 TSX 6 speed and want to pay it off. Here are my options:

1. Keep the TSX and lease an 09 S next January ($299 a month here). At the end of the 3 years (TSX is long been paid off and I"m saving money in the meantime) I sell the TSX and pay off the S. Then I take the saved money and put it down on a 135i (or M, or Tii, or whatever they have out in 4 years!). Then, I have two ultimate vehicles!

2. I sell teh TSX next January and buy a 135i. I'm toying with this idea because the costs of owning two cars kind of sucks! Plain and simple, with gas the way it is, and insurance, and two payments.....like I said, not rich here!

3. I've thought of plan 1 over, but doing it with a used S......payment will be higher initially, just not sure if used is the way to go with that car.

What do ya'll think?

Thanks!

how about the S and a beater?

you would probably be better off with just one car, but if you really want the S and don't want to deal with the increase cost of ownership with two cars, getting a cheap reliable beater is your best bet.

I thought about that.....but my TSX will be paid off in the next year and its so damn solid, and reliable, and just loaded with luxury options that have spoiled me....I might as well make that the beater then, ay?

I live in MN (snow, ice, COLD) and would need something for the winter. I guess I should stick with what I have and add the S as the fun car!?

Just make sure you own an S at some point. You want to own as many interesting cars as you can in your lifetime.

So keep the tsx, get you a nice used low cost AP1 s2000 as a weekend warrior, and save up for a nice low mileage M3.

buy an inexpensive, low mileage, pampered S2000 for weekends and nice days, and keep the acura for the lousy ones and the winter. pay both off, and the used S2000 will hold much of its resale value--no reason to pay depriciation costs on two cars if they aren't DDs. also, to cut ownership and maintainence costs, don't bother insuring the S2000 in the cold/snowy months.

if you do that, you get both cars for now, you'll have a lot of equity for a trade-in, and you'll have a paid-off weekend toy.

Ace and the gang are right.

First of all the BMW is not in the M series league. In 2-3 years they are going to have some incredible 4cyls again, and you can have 4 adults sit in the car, and your TSX will be worn at that point.

Thanks for all of the good comments. SO what I'm reading is that a new S2000 isn't worth the "new" of it all? The reason I wanted to do the new lease was for the low payments. Then, at the end of the lease I'll have enough dough to pay the thing off right on the spot. I've read posts that the 08 isn't as nice as the 06.....whats the deal with that? All I know is that if tilt steering becomes an option next year then I can't pass it up!

I'm not necessarily looking for an M BMW....just a fast, all around, kick ass car. But I think in several years I'll definitely want to get rid of the TSX as it will be showing its age. The S I'm sure I'd keep forever!

In response to Ace's comment, are you saying that in the end I should hang on to the S2000 if I buy one now and sell the Acura to get the next car as suggested by TOF?
