Ok, its not a 32k car...
From the acura website...
TSX 6 speed 26,490
w/nav 28.490
TL Type S 31,330
w/nav 33,480
Infiniti G35 30,195
w/ nav, sunroof, and 17" rims (although im not sure this combo is even possible, it seems you have to add the premium also)

So either the TL or G35 are about $5k more for a comparibly equipped car with an extra 60 hp. Only if you add ALL the accesories do you get close to 32k for the TSX. But then it wouldn't be a direct comparison...
BTW, the car is gorgeous, better in person as most honda's are (s2000 included)

I think the TSX looks good in most of the pics I've seen. I have seen a bad angle or two, but I am hoping the car will look good in person. The new Accord is a stinker. That coupled with the fact that you can only get the 6 speed in the Accord coupe means I just might have to replace my Accord sedan 4 banger/5 speed with a TSX. That would rock!
I don't see the TSX as being a direct competitor to the TL Type S and I don't think Acura does either.

It's a known fact that Honda marks up their new cars while they're hot. Let's all wait a few months and do the $-HP comparo then.
Hell, Mitsu is selling the Evo for 100% over sticker so maybe that's the reason you don't see any on the roads.

I agree. Everyone should wait a bit before buying a car now. 6 months should be sufficient. The EVO can be had for invoice by 6 months. And I'm sure Acura would be more willing to deal with you by then as well. And if anyones' in the market for an STI there's quite a few dealerships selling them for MSRP ($31K-$32K). I wouldn't buy into the whole 'new' hype. Let all the other idiots pay MSRP or more for cars that'll flood the market within 2 years.

I agree with the pricing problem.
A TL without the NAV is under $29K.
A couple of questions.
Isn't this just a 4 door RSX with the 200HP type S motor?
I believe the past car, the Integra was built on the Civic platform.
Is the current car built on the Accord platform?

Friday I went and drove an EVO and then immediately drove the TSX. The Mitsu dealer and Acura dealer are next to each other. I would NEVER spend 32-25K for an EVO after driving it.
I was impressed with the TSX, but I felt it was a little underpowered. It does not have the RSX Type S engine. It is the 2.4 from the Accord and CRV reworked for 200 hp. It has a lot smoother and broader torque curve than the RSX. The TSX I would want is 29K. Not bad I don't think.
I don't know what Lexus dealers you all go to, but the ones around here would want 35K+ for a comparably equipped IS300 and it still has those horrible tail lights.
The Accord Coupe I am looking at is 28,800 so I am just torn between the power of the V6 coupe or the extra warranty and HID lights on the TSX.

I think the TSX is a great car, based on what I've read, and I probably would have bought one if it had been out in December. The prices that have been noted above are way off what you should actually expect to pay. The 6-spd w/out nav should go out the door for something around $24K (that's about what invoice is, I believe). Add $1,700 or so for the nav. That's a TON of car for $24K. I think it offers a nice alternative to the V6 EX Accord, and it undercuts the 1.8T, 325i, 9-3, G35, and IS300 by a lot of $ at $24K. At that price you get leather, heated seats, real wood trim, great sound system, 8 airbags, ABS, 17" wheels, Xenons, etc. I think you'd be hard-pressed to find more new car for the $. Yes, the WRX will offer more performance, but the TSX offers much higher quality and more features for similar money. For the smart shopper, I think it is a hell of a buy for around $24K.
