Trying to decide on the better cJaguar XF...
Hi all, I'm looking at two models of XF, and trying to figure out the better car.
Both are at the same dealer (Carmax), but how this company writes up the specs is never consistent. At any rate, the two cars:
2013 awd SC v6 : https://www.carmax.com/car/18224347
2015 rwd SC v6: https://www.carmax.com/car/18370271
Because Jaguar changes the packages and what is included, I'm trying to figure out the better buy based on equipment. Caviar burgundy paint tugs at the heart, but the interior is where I'll be and I love the Aquila wheels on the '15.
The 13 has premium pack, convenience pack, portfolio pack, and cold weather pack, but I think most of this was standard by the 15 model year. Original sticker was $66,145 retail.
From what I can tell, the 15 does not have the rear sunshade or heated steering wheel and windshield, but seems to have the better sound system, still has blindspot assist. It does have soft grain vs bond grain leather. Sticker was $58,608 retail.

According to the site, they're both "unavailable" - sold?

The stereo in the '15 is definitely better than the one in the '13, not sure how important the stereo part is to you, but there is a noticeable difference.
The infotainment is the old generation in both cars, LR/Jag have been using the same system since '11, it was upgraded I think in '16 and there is a difference. I'd try for a '16 if you can.
If it is between the two cars above, I'd pick the '15.

Heated steering wheel on the 15 is accessed via the Nav screen. My hunch is that it does have heated steering wheel based on the indented leather seats. I think the sun shade is raised from where the sun roof lever is.

The styling is not as great, but post '15 is an aluminum rivet bonded construction that is more advanced, lighter, and safer than the previous one. I'd go for a XJ at your price point.

I know nothing about either car, but if I were living in North Carolina, I would forgo the AWD, and the heated anything and go with the RWD because it is probably more engaging to drive and no AWD system to maintain or possibly fail.
Have you driven both on a decent back road to see if you like one more than the other?

I hear you on that. XJ is a big car. My XJ was especially wide which was a bigger PITA than the length. Not sure how the current body style compares, but I assume similarly wide.
For the original XF body shape; the XF-RS are a good investment. In french blue that car is really special!
