Toyota's 2007 vision as top automaker

Buick, in China, is a premium brand. It's not like our Buick's here - they're more upscale comparatively to a Buick here.

Not to mention, Buicks are a hell of a lot nicer than the crap cars the Chinese produce.

Plus, GM's world cars are often better than we've been getting here in the States - much of the new "better" product GM is selling here now comes from foreign markets. GM pushed crap product on its home market for years and it is paying the price.

Damn, the automotive world will be boring as heck if Toyota is the only company around.
However, they seem to have a number of sports cars coming in the near future. Toyota is more capable of making sports cars than anyone else, not because they're smarter but because they have way way more cash. When you have limitless cash, anything is possible.

Toyota will not wipe anyone off, I mean Chrysler is hanging on but ask someone a decade ago and they would've said the same thing. Now you have Ford and GM copying what Chrysler is doing.
Also, Ford and GM have great products worldwide, but I guess it's ego if anything that keeps them from truly competing here in their home market. I mean the Euro Focus is lightyears ahead of the Focus here (look at the Mazda3 for instance) and yet Ford doesn't bother. GM is getting on the ball bringing in the Monaro's achitecture to the Pontiac line in the form of a new GTO and a RWD V8 sedan so in the end time will heal certain mistakes. Funny though that no one seems to mention VW's financial woes...

Yup, I surely will miss Pontiac "The driving excitement.....(for the wrong reasons)"
Show me the Toyota equivalent of the new 650 torque Duramax diesel truck? Hell, the new Tundra was delayed because Toyota knew they were going to get their ass kicked by the dramatically improved Silverado/Sierra. I would take the 6.0L VortecMax Crew Cab Silverado over any Tundra, especially after Chevy finally puts the damn six-speed auto in all the trucks.
Show me the Toyota equivalent of the C6? There isn't one.
The deal is, Toyota has the Camry and the Corolla. Unfortunately (for GM lovers), GM really doesn't have a viable competitor, though I personally would take an Impala SS V8 for the same money as a Camry V6. I love 8 cylinder motors.
Anyway, I am planning on buying an RX350 for my wife because she isn't a car enthusiast and just wants a quiet/comfy/reliable SUV. Can't beat Lexus for that. Though, I will make her drive an uplevel Tahoe first.
