Toyota-why not start building 93-98 Supra's again?

The thing about the Car Enthusist, is that we make up about 5% of the whole car Market. So would it be in their interest to start making the Supra, Skyline, S15, RX7, 300zx, 240sx, etc etc? No it wouldn't, they lose money everytime they make these cars. So car companies have to stick to what sales in the hundreds of thousands each year which is semi-sport cars and Ecomonic cars to the rest of the 95% of the consumer.
It sucks ass, but thats the truth.

I think the 1993 TT Supra was running very low 13's in the Qtr and could hit 150mph in just over 30 seconds.... that is as fast as a modern M3......plus the Supra could be modified (similar to current Evo's) for very cheap. MBC and some air/fuel playing = big gains.

just put 6 point cage into the Supra.....holy crap, the greatest car ever just became orgasmic.
check the spy video on Edmunds testing the Lexus LF-A at Nurburgring, u will see a Mk IV leading it around.
hope MK V has the lexus 430 V8 (na), fixed hardtop and wacky tail lights

Maybe in 20-30 years time when they bring the Supra name out of retirement (like Nissan did with the Zed) Toyota will buy some old shells and get a sub-contractor to build them up with N.O.S. parts

Supra today has to compete against the 400hp C6 and soon the Mustang GT500 ($39K 475hp).
I just don't see a $35K-$45K Supra/Supra turbo being a compelling buy.
It's true Japan could a 2-seater with over 300hp. The field is wide open. I think something along the lines of a shortened IS350 2+2 or 2-seater with 310+hp sold by Toyota ~$35Kwould sell nicely.
