Oh I understand your point. You must be a Republican. The false equivalency logic smacks of their thought process. So, you can go buy two AP1 S2000's with 100,000 miles on them or two 7 year old SRT6's with 75,000 miles on them for the price of one new underpowered Toyota. So what? They would still have less car at twice the price of one used car nearly a decade older. Quite an achievement by Toyota.

I'm not understanding the negativity you have towards the BRZ/FRS. $27k is pretty cheap when talking about today's dollar. A brand new s2000 if released would probably cost $35k+.

The BRZ concentrated on building a great chassis, which it did. Yeah it's underpowered but that can easily be fixed in future models or aftermarket.

& if we're talking about "less car than a used older car", isn't that obvious tho? A used c5 z06 is faster than most sports cars under $40k. Whats your point? You can't really compare used cars vs. new cars like that. Toyota has more a pulse than Honda does these days.

Also its funny you mention the Miata... the Miata is all about chassis & handling. It also costs 25-$30k depending on options. So why is the Miata a pulse-giving car for mazda but the brz/frs isn't for toyota?

There's just one wee difference between the two. See if you can figure it out. It makes all the difference for me.

That was exactly my point. Nice to see you agree with me. Now explain it to Daniel L. He was the one I was responding to. He was the one who brought up the idea that a new FRS > (S2000 X 2) or FRS > (SRT6 X 2). I simply pointed out the false equivalency in his flawed logic. As an aside, I had the SRT6 out for a run yesterday. It hadn't been driven in a month and I just wanted to run it. I broke the rear tires loose (275/35's) pretty violently at 50 mph in a straight line. 90% of peak torque from 1,800 - 5,800 RPM. Try that with an FRS.

I'll take my SRT6 with 40,000 miles on it and wipe the track with his new FRS all day every day even with my horrid (gasp) automatic and hideous looking car. Despite the power, it's the same length with the same wheelbase as an S2000. And at 32 feet, the turn radius is the same as an Exige. 14 inch vented discs up front and 13.8 at the rear. Yeah, it's hideous. But then the cars are not in the same class are they?

So basically you just wanted to point out how "superior" your used, old and modified semi-Mercedes is compared to a BRZ or "anything" (except the three obvious vehicles) that Toyota makes?

Did I get that right?

Hmmm interesting point to bring up politics, I'm sure your fellow Democrats can't wait to get rid of gas powered vehicles...

That's because someone wants to talk about a car that nobody wanted and express it's superiority...
