With 200+ hp and 2800 lbs or so, it'd be quite a bit of fun without breaking the bank. Not sure if that'd make it a Genesis Coupe (with the turbo motor) beater or not.

Boxster is the Porsche two seat convertible car.
Boxer is a horizontally opposed motor in which opposing cylinders reach TDC at the same time.
This is the first Toyota that has even interested me in years. Carpliances aren't for me and this looks to have some substance.

Beng a Subaru engine, I'd expect to easily see the WRX engine at 265 hp in an upper version of this car, with maybe an awd version for under $30k. The base Impreza has 170hp and the GT 225 or so, either of which could be the base for this Toyota.
If they took the WRX motor (265 hp) and used that, this would be a fantastic car or at least a fantastic starting point.

For me to consider it has to have a new technology in it:
Direct Injection
Good aftermarket tuning...
the celica was actually lighter on it's feet and braked better than the RSX when it came out, but the ECU was hard to crack and therefore people with the RSX

anyone know why toyota is making this car with subaru? it's not like they don't have a ton of various engines they can produce that can make 200 hp.
I have a feeling the 2.0L from the S2000 is going to be better (except on gas)

Weight and the Toyota dynamics are the 2 scary factors.
I have an is250 Lexus and it's an appliance not a car. It gets you from point A to point B but I feel like an old fart driving my Grandfather's Buick when I'm behind the wheel. I've heard similar complaints about other Toyota products.
