I don't see how this can be any more than ~23K msrp. If it's going to be around 200bhp and decently loaded, then 23k isn't a bad price at all. This seems to be aimed at the Civic Si, MS3, etc crowd but an alternative to those who want a RWD fun car rather than a FWD compact "sports car."

If priced any higher, it will be touching 370z territory and won't sell well. Maybe ~25k for a nicely optioned "track package" which included better suspension, wheels/tires, LSD, a bump in hp, etc etc.

As long as the keep it in the low/mid 20s msrp, then it's a great alternative and a competitor though it may be slower than some cars in its price class, but it will still sell well. If it's any higher priced, it will need more than 200bhp to sell. In terms of cars, numbers usually sell more than looks.

Definitely nice, but I was hoping for a 2JZ or 3JZ!

those engines are in a toyota museum. we will never see JZ engines again in a new toyota production car.

i can't see this car going over $23k unless its optioned out at the dealer.

Here's a great set of size comparison pics.

All us s2k fans should be happy to see how the FT86 compares to all the bloated "sports" cars out there these days.
thanks. i was planning on doing that same type of comparison but my photoshop is screwed up. very nice.

I bet the boxer engine has something to do with the low profile of the car.

Wow this car is just perfect (styling) in my opinion. I really hope Toyota keeps this as close to the concept as possible for production and by that I mean don't change the exterior at all! LOL.
