Was searching around for possible other colors (not a fan of red generally) and came across these.

The dark gray and blue look amazing IMO!

I think many cars are billed as being "small cars" even when they are pretty big by my standards.
I compared the dimensions of this car to an s2000 and a scion tc just to kind of see where they compare.
The FT-86 is just about an inch longer than the s2000, .39 inches taller, and .2 inches wider, however, it has a much shorter wheelbase.
That's pretty good news. In other words, it is just a hair bigger than an s2000 in every exterior dimension. My initial reaction when I saw the picture was that it was going to be the size of my Scion TC (Mrs. E.G.'s car). It turned out, I was wrong.
The scion TC is a full 10 inches longer, .1 inches narrower, 6 inches taller, and has a wheelbase that is five inches longer.
Now, for the information that I feel most happy with (because I am an asshole that likes to argue with people), the Genesis coupe has been generally received as being a small car on this board. I have had a couple of people "correct" me and tell me that I am just biased because I drive a Miata. I just shook it off without ever really looking into it and figured that maybe they were right.
The Genesis coupe, as it turns out, is almost 20 inches longer than the FT-86, it is 4 inches wider, and is almost 5 inches taller. That's interesting to note, but another thing that seems to be consistent on this website is that many people seem to think that the C6 Corvette is a very big car. While I always knew that was bullshit, I never really had a dog in the fight so I stayed out of it. But, since this post is about comparing cars, why not bring those details into the equation as well.
The C6 is actually about 8 inches SHORTER than the Genesis coupe, almost an inch narrower, more than five inches shorter, and its wheelbase is actually five inches shorter than the Genesis. I think it's safe to assume that the Genesis coupe is a monstrosity. (Please feel free to correct me if any of my numbers are wrong. Go knows I can transpose digits.)
Sorry for the tangent. I am excited that the FT-86 is a small car that is actually small. Considering that the tC weighs in at 2900 lbs and some change (manual transmission) yet it is considerably larger and has the whole glass roof thing going on, I think that it is very easy to imagine that the FT-86 can weigh in under 3,000 lbs.

What's odd is that I got an up-close view of a HGC for the first time on Friday, even sat in it a bit, and I would NEVER have guessed it was that much larger than an S2000. It certainly does NOT look like a vehicle that large. Visually, the C6 is larger. Maybe Hyundai simply did a very good job with the styling, keeping things in proportion and such.

i did not know that the tC was less than 3000 lbs. if it is, the FT-86 has to be even lighter, right?
