I just have to say... this may be one of the few car forums around (Miata forums excepted) where people speculate so much, not about power or cornering Gs or 0-60 times, but about weight. Awesome.

But that was 10 years ago and it wasnt RWD. For whatever reason FWD is almost always slightly lighter.
We've got this car's dimensions, and they're roughly the same size as these cars that are very far under 3000 lbs (With the Miata closer to 2000 lbs). I'm not saying this car will be 2500 lbs, but RWD and a few extra required safety features shouldn't magically add 500 lbs either.

i think i just found my wifes next car. seriously. i just hope they make a dsg type tranny for it since she doesn't want to drive a manual daily. i give a lot of kudos to toyota because that thing looks fun to drive and nimble standing still which we haven't been able to say about any toyota the past 4 to 5yrs. for those that post the IS or IS-F, i said toyota not lexus.
love the dash layout which reminds me of the S and a little elise in the shifter area.
another bit of surprise is how much of the FT-HS design concept made it to the car. the only thing that's iffy is the interior, everything else looks production ready.

What makes you think this car would weigh anywhere near 3200lbs? This concept is smaller dimensionally than the last gen Toyota Celica, which only weighed 2500lbs. And 2500lbs was the target weight previously thrown around by Toyota sources.
