Default Top 100 Cars of All Time

Look what the number 1 cars is -- not in my book. The S2K does not make the list.

Those cars have been out from 10-90 years though. If the s2k even had a chance, if it had been out that long, it has only been out for 3 years. Far from the greatest of all time. Maybe in about 15 more years. I don't see how the MINI got it over the Beetle though.

yougotmade........good response.

time has to make your car into an iconic car.

I don't doubt that it may happen. Just be patient.

Man, I can't believe how young turbocharging is. roughly 30-35 years.

I think that's probably one of the most Eurocentric (esp Brit-biased) lists I've ever seen. Comeon...Lotus Elise at #12?
Cool Car=Yes
Historically Significant=No
I mean, look....the list contains cars like the London Taxi's (Austin FX4's), but not NY's famous Checkers.
I could go on & on, but this isn't a very well thought out list.
Also, there is one number that should have put the S2000 on the list (probably near the bottom of a good list, but miles ahead of some on this one).
The number: 9000
....as in 9000rpm, but you already knew that

I agree that the list is very Euro-orientied.

Heck - the Audi TT made the list.

Did you forget that the Elise is the first car produced with an aluminum extruded chassis? The car has some very technologically significant stuff going on.

It never occured to me that the list is eurocentric.

I don't see how the TT made that list with the problems that they are having with them.

I think some of the criteria that cars should be juged against are:

1. technology
2.historical significance ***** (i.e: what effect did this car have on public lifestyle)
3. heritage
4. production span
5. trend setting designs

these are just a few.

Jags, Ferrari's, Porsches and etc. are a given. I hope that no one here is suprised to see these marques on the list.

*****= what I think is the most important criteria, and every car on that list should ideally step up to the plate on this one.

Im not sure who you heard those things from. I have had mine for just over a year and have had "0" problems and Love absolutely everything about it. There is a web site dedicated to a single unhappy owner, but I would hardly say that defines every owner as being "unhappy", but there are sites or people that feel this way about every car made(including the S2000). Visit Audi-TT.org and you will find hundreds and thousands of people that absolutely Love this car and have nothing but good things to say about it.........

Im curious as to where you heard all this bad stuff from?????
