I don't like the looks of the new BMWs but I could see this win. The 2.0T in the Audi really isn't as luxurious as most 6 pots. It's a good engine in many ways but not in the smooth power sort of way.
The G37 engine roughness is very believable. I wasn't at all impressed with the NHV of the G35 motors. Nissan seems to have taken a nice 3L VQ design and expanded it to the point where it no longer is the smooth operator it used to be.
The TL, well one look at it would make it a looser regardless of how good the rest of the car might be. I was behind one on the freeway the other day. If the taillights had been white I would have sworn it was headed right for me! Seriously, it's damn ugly.
That kind of makes the BMW a winner by default rather than by brilliance.

If power/weight and outright acceleration are more important than anything else, then yeah, the G wins.
But based on specs (I haven't driven either car) I prefer the 328 as it's 330 lb. lighter and has 50/50 weight distribution vs. the G's 53.6/46.4.
For me, reasonable weight >> more power (even if it's more than enough more power to offset the weight).
In any case, having semi-arbitrary "points" assigned and then a "winner" defined by this ridiculous system is pretty damned silly.

I think I can speak after owning the top two finishers.
The G35(7) is a wonderful car. It's durable, fast, roomy, nice looking, and performs very well.
That being said I sold mine after driving the 328. I was willing to give up a little acceleration for a lighter car, that feels more balanced with much better steering feel. I just love the way the BMW drives. In addition I like the manual better on the BMW as the clutch is perfect for a daily driver.
I'm not a huge BMW fan. I don't like ANY of their cars other than the 3 series, but the 3 they do very well.

I would probably choose the 328 over the G35 as well.

I just read that article on the plane.
Oddly enough, I agree with their rankings. BMW over the G, both by FAR over the Acura and Audi.
The TL is a WAY overweight (over 3900 lb.!), fwd-layout (engine slung out transversely in front of the front wheels) pig relative to the 600-lb. lighter, 50/50 weight distribution BMW.
Frankly I don't understand why any sports car enthusiast would even consider the Acura or the Audi over the BMW or G. Oversized overweight front-drive layout (even w/ awd) sedans appeal to me not at all...

uh....the TL is the SH-AWD version if you didn't read...

I was speaking of both the Audi and the Acura in that statement.

The styling of the new TL can be pretty much described with the following:
