2009 BMW 328i - Comparison Test
Highs: Sheetmetal stretched tightly over the machinery, smooth six-cylinder and six-speed, seat adjusts perfectly.
Lows: Pricey car has fake leather, manual adjusters instead of power, can

Compare the Mustang to the Camaro and a BMW would still somehow win.
Every rag on the planet is gaga over the "propeller" and it seems this comparo does not change that conception

I just read that article on the plane.
Oddly enough, I agree with their rankings. BMW over the G, both by FAR over the Acura and Audi.
The TL is a WAY overweight (over 3900 lb.!), fwd-layout (engine slung out transversely in front of the front wheels) pig relative to the 600-lb. lighter, 50/50 weight distribution BMW.
Frankly I don't understand why any sports car enthusiast would even consider the Acura or the Audi over the BMW or G. Oversized overweight front-drive layout (even w/ awd) sedans appeal to me not at all...

I just bought a RL after driving all of the competition and I know why everybody loves BMWs so much and why the Honda product finishes weak.... Steering feel.
It sounds like a minor annoyance, but steering feel completely transforms the entire driving experiance. I'm absolutely boggled as to why Honda is so insistant on using their God aweful electically assisted steering racks. It ruins the feel of a car who's chassis dynamics are otherwise incredible. My wife and I had to force ourselves to look past the steering feel and focus on the rest of the car. When looked at this way, the RL was the obvious choice for us. On an initial driving assesment however, I would have picked the BMW too.
Cliffnotes to Honda: FIX YOUR STEERING!

Drunk as we are on the BMW Kool-Aid, we once again behold the definitive sports sedan.
