Hey, if you got the $$$, use it however you see fit...

But your stereotype isn't accurate, since a very high % of Cayennes are sold to Porsche sports car owners.

Yeah but what do they do with it. I have yet to see a pepper tow a vehicle. I go to DE's all the time, I have NEVER seen a porsche sportscar being towed in on a pepper. I don' know about off road use but I seriously doubt they do that either.

So, its basically a jacked up station wagon with AWD and little trunk space.

Then again, Its really hard to argue with the pepper/panamera if it brings money for the 911/boxster evolution

One of my friends has prob. one of the most impressive car collections in Austin - 4 or 5 Ferraris, GT3, Ford GT, etc., and his daily driver is a Cayenne Turbo. He takes it offroad daily @ construction sites, and I know he's used it to tow sports cars to the track (he races a 355 Challenge w/ NASA), but last time I saw, he used a Super Duty PowerStroke instead for that.

I've driven it, and both the brakes and acceleration seemed better than the S2000's! It handled very well for what it is, too. My Avalanche seemed very pedestrian after that drive.

How far removed is this from the 928? That was a big heavy GT (IIRC 3600lbs back in 1990, total pig), front engined, 4 seats, 80% sold with auto trannys. This is basically that car, but with another pair of doors, and in fact much much better. But mention the 928 and all you hear is "why don't they make a new 928?!!" Now add 2 more doors, which just makes sense, and it's "Porsche has lost it!!!"

Good point; I agree. You could actually sit in the back seat of a 928. It had a big console tray between the rear seat passengers. You might not have wanted to travel 500 miles back there, but it was clearly a 4-passenger GT car.

Well, one thing we do with them is embarrass S2000 drivers from a standstill, surprise them around curves, and brag about how we got a clock and proper glovebox as standard equipment... (j/k)
A 5 series station wagon could probably do that too
