I think turbo s2k will hang with Z06.. especially from a roll..
I also think 538 Hp and 483 torque is kinda low for supercharged Z06...
This one suppose to have 730hp..

not sure how much he spent...

Dude I made the point about the 4-Door Z06, because EVERY Z06 is a coupe, and you said they should make a coupe model. Also for those who think that 538 RWHP is Low, wake up! Please someone at this board tell me what the lowest 1/4 time is for ANY S2K, because I know of STOCK Z06 that are getting high 11's.

Really, the driver is usually a bigger factor than the car at these types of events.

Just for reference guys, turbo S2K's are definitely making enough power to give a Z06 a fair race. Properly tuned on 7 psi or so, a Speedcraft equipped S2K will be making 310-330 whp. Now, to be fair, a Z06 is making more like 350-360 whp, but the S2K is 8-10% lighter and is geared more aggressively.
Having driven a speedcraft equipped S2K and launched it, you'd be surprised how quick and easy it is to drive (drag racing that is). Back when ChrisD first started running 12's, he had minimal (or zero) drag racing experience. And he was running OEM tires. Yet he pulled off a 2.1-2.2 60 ft and ran 12.6@116 mph (although he did use race gas). I figured maybe Chris was a better driver than he let on, but now I think a big part of it is the kit. Bring the revs up to 5k-6k, preload the clutch a little bit, then quickly slip in as you floor the gas. The car hooks up pretty nicely, no bog and just pulls hard. Make your shifts as quick as possible to avoid losing boost, and you're set. With stickier tires you could be more aggressive on the launch and run even quicker. In either case, I think that launching the turbo'd S2K is far less abusive and less likely to break parts than dropping the clutch on a stock car.
Now, while I'd _still_ give to the edge to the Z06, it seems (I haven't launched one) that it would be somewhat harder to launch since its capable of roasting the hides pretty easily in first gear (the Speedcraft car, surprisingly, doesn't really spin up the tires). Considering that the Z06 and Speedcraft S2K's trap at similar speeds 115-118 mph for the Z06, 114-116 for the Speedcraft, it would be a driver's race IMO.
BTW, has anyone run 11's on a totally stock Z06, or did they upgrade the tires to do that?

I too am surprised it only adds 133hp. I wonder - did they simply decide to tune it mild, or is there some limitation with the engine or ECU that prevents anything wilder? A local ex-S2000 owner has his Z06 up to 411 wheel hp with cams and bolt-ons, so obviously there's more there...

This is what I've seen on video.
Comptech supercharged S2000 vs. 400hp Audi S4 = dead even tie.
Same 400hp Audi S4 vs. stock Z06 = several car length win for the S4.
Therefore, an SC S2000 should have no problem hanging with a stock Z06 in the straights. But don't forget you are comparing a bone stock car to a highly modified one.

If that's what you're thinking, I kept up w/ a Z06 at my last track day no problem...though it was a relatively tight course.
