Oh, the sticks could be more precise with shorter throws too.

[QUOTE=y2ks2k,Dec 8 2007, 11:47 AM] The 3 series is ok.. but its just that ok.. its nothing spectacular. Performance is pretty much the only thing the 3 series has going for it over its competitors that murder it in most other things that makes a car a car. The 3 series isn

I also disagree. The 3 series is that good. I'd go so far as to say the 335i is the best all-around car ever made (I also loved the E46 330i ZHP). Speed on par with a 996 911. Sweet handling. Great breaks. Excellent build quality. All the luxury you really need. It could look better and I wish that the base motor was the 260 h.p. 3.0l from the departed 330i and that the 335i came in a wagon (with more cargo room too), but, nonetheless, they are wonderful cars. Even without the turbos, the 3 series is still the class of the class. To me, the 3 series' greatness starts with the inline 6. A V6 just doesn't compare, IMO. The 3 series is more than the sum of its stats. Obviously, I like Infinitis, but I'll be the first to admit that the G35 (haven't driven a G37 yet) isn't on the same level as the 3 series. I also can't be considered a fanboi since I've never bought a BMW, and I don't think the auto rags are engaged in some sort of BMW-funded conspiracy to unfairly sing the praises of the 3 series. They are that good. My $.02 worth.
Very well put. I'll give it to the competition. They do bring the power and features but there is more to the equation. I'm not some power obsessed freak. I had a 2004 325i convertible for this past thanksgiving weekend at some relatives. The car has 192horsepower. Its a 44k car with 192hp...haha. I still enjoyed every minute of it. I must've put around 300miles on the car. The engine was ULTRA smooth. It didnt buck. Handling was very flat...it made me feel good. I'm not an engineer so I cant tell you exactly why mechanically. Maybe I just love inline sixes. I mean its got 48 less horsepower than my s2000 and weighs almost 1000lbs more. Go figure.

And I am afraid of the shifter in the 135i.

I have 2006 325CI coupe with the M sport package (this is a canadian model)
I like the car for handling and the bells and whistles. This car was as is, there were no added options that I could add. See the brochure http://www.bmw.ca/automobiles/brochures/en...Ed_DM_Coupe.pdf

It is listed at having 184 hp. Its not so much sluggish, but I feel more horsepower would have been better. It is a heavy feeling car. I have had minor issues with this car and would recommend it to anyone. I will probably be looking at selling it in the spring so I can look at the 135!

135i FTW!! DINAN just released warrantied software. 384hp 421lb of torque i think. That will be my only engine mod.

If an s2ki admin gave her seal of approval then thats it....nobody else can say anything to me..lol

It is a blend of sport and luxury and to me the blend is nearly perfect. Made me buy the e90 330i over its competition. Yeah, the sport side is that good while, as noted above, keeping refined. Are they overpriced? Yeah maybe 15% or so. But not as bad as Porsches, MBZ,...

The question is, what other sedan gives a better ride-feel-comfort-performance?

it's been said before but the 3 series is the best driving car in that class. it is no, s2k by a long shot, but compared to the other entry luxo cars, it wins. g37, though is right there with it now.
