Check out last month's Automobile Magazine article on their extended test of the Evo. And yes Mitsubishi will void the warranty if you race, time trial or autocross but I believe other automakers are doing the same. I have driven the Evo (but not the Subaru) and I can tell you it rocks. Much rather have an S2000 though...the Evo lools like crap comparatively. And Mitsubishi quality cannot compare to Honda/Acura.

me n my friend were having the exact same convo today, he has a s2k and he wants to sell it to either get a sti or evo. If your looking to give up reliability for speed then evo is the way to go. looks/reliability s2k is good.

Well I am looking for something to drag first and autocross next, and something that is reliable, and for the most part (IE Clutch) the EVO is this, but would still look at the STI and give it a try. CG can you pm me your number. Thanks

I could have sworn I just read somewhere that Subaru is also denying warranties on any car that was taken to a track event.

In a year of bing on 3 WRX boards I havent seen one yet. In fact, everything I have from Subaru encurages you to AutoX your Sti, Dealers have even sponcered a few.

Better check NASIOC.com again. People are discussing how it's retarded that Subaru gives you membership to SCCA but then denies you warranty on STIs that have been tracked/raced.

Turbo,
I doubt that would be the case at the local dealer where I am, the owner goes to all the autocrosses and offers discounts to SCCA members. So by him being there and contributing to it I am pretty sure I would be taken care of. Just my .02

Considering the troubles Mitsubishi Motors is experiencing at the moment, I would feel much better buying a Subaru.
