Have you driven a C5? Not trying to attack the car, just actually wondering. When I sold my FD Rx-7, I was nearly sure I wanted a C5Z as a replacement. I test-drove a few, and while I was thoroughly impressed with the performance (especially for a stock car), I just couldnt get over the interior and overall "cheap" feel to the car. And this is coming for an Rx-7 nut, which if you are familiar with those arent exactly known for their interiors. (layout yes, not material quality). Everything was cheap plastic, creaked, and felt poorly put together. Felt like the car was way larger than it needed to be also. Im in love with the LS series of engines, and there is no doubt that the corvette has an incredible driveline and great suspension, but I wish they would have put extra effort into the interior materials and layout. Im a member of LS1tech and have my share of experience with the engines and cars, and as said above I think the price is pretty steep for an '01, definately look for an 02-04 if you are serious. Nothing really "wrong" with an 01 if you find a very nice one at a good price, but I think the improvement to the '02+ are definately worthwhile to hold out for.

Yes...ty for the correction. 2001 is the only year for a white Z06.
Yup, one of the only reasons I picked up a 2001. I would definitely continue to shop as there are deals to be had.

The Z06 is my daily driver and you should definitely reconsider that if you encounter a lot of driveways. The air dam under the front bumper will scrape EVERYTHING in its way...

Well, I currently only have approx. 14,000 miles on it. I've only owned it for the last year and have only about 6,000 of those miles under my belt. The car is daily driven since I purchased it and its been practically trouble free.

The only issues I've had are two bad driver side door lock/unlock relays. This is a common problem on C5's but there is a DIY fix that costs about $2 per relay. Also, I puchased the column lock bypass but only as a precaution. I do not have an oil burning issues or differential leaks which are some common problems as well.

Another picture just for fun...

The only 2001 Z06 worth considering is the rare Arctic White one since that was the first and only year they made Z06s in white. Why GM doesn't offer AW on Z06s is a mystery to me.
FYI, the 2001 Z06s were made in Speedway White.

Arctic White is a different white (better white IMO) available on base C5s and I think C6s also.

I wish I would have gotten the one that was at my dealership I posted here a while back. Such a awesome car (coming from a import head).

Was it the silver one?
that was the one that triggered my interest in the whole Z06 scene.

I've always wanted a C5Z06. I've never pulled the trigger on one, though, but I've come very close. Personally, the styling of the C5Z06 flips my cookie more than the C6, but I agree the interior sucks.

Since my first child is on the way any day, I'll probably have to wait for a long time, but I'll own a Vette someday, just to "get it out of my system".
