Id like to say that the newer r6's are by far the best 600's around. Lightest, highest revving, race oriented sport bikes out there in the 600 market. I've got an 07 r1 raven and I love it more than any. Bike I've ever had.

the new ones like 09-10 are down on power best to get an 08 or older.

its high reving though and to fully take advantage of the power u have to be at the top of the rev range. which is kind of a pain on the street. also ergos for street riding arent that great. at the track its awesome though.

i will say one thing the handling is amazing. not fond of the brakes though and no gear indicator?

I hate the R6's (or any other 600's) powerband for street riding, though they're brilliant on track. Gimme a literbike for the street, or at least a GSXR750.

Please explain. I find my R6 very competent on the street, and have owned a liter bike previously that was simply too heavy and non-maneuverable for me on the street.

OP: I will, however, be listing my R6 very shortly on eBay. It's a 2006 Anniversary that is in perfect condition. I will be asking a fair price for it - sorry, no steal deals on this one.
Very little power below 10K rpm, plenty above it. I don't like having to wind it out around town to go at a decent clip, and prefer plenty of roll-on torque.

On the track, I love winding 600's out, and the overrev comes in handy around corners when it's not good to shift.

My Super Duke feels super light, weight and agility are not at all issues w/ it.

I don't need to 'wind out' my R6 riding on the street. I save the winding out part for the track.

Let's just say that not winding out a liter bike is a lot more fun than not winding out an otherwise comparable 600.

I traded the R6 for R1 so I wouldn't feel so compelled to wind out my bike on the street. To really have fun w/ the R6 on the street, I felt like I was riding it like an asshole.
