Think this is the right forum to post to: 94 COROLLA PROBLEM...:(
Ok, my family owned a 94 Corolla. It's at 102000 or so kms right now.
Not sure what the heck my sister did (or did not) do to the corolla when she took it to another city and lived there for a few months...
Half of the time, the car will not start. When I try to crank it to start, all I get is a click sound. Might take 3-4 cranks before the car actually starts. I am not too sure if the car will actually dies if I take it out on the street though.
Anyone know why? Battery problem? Alternator? Ignition system problem?
How can I determine the source of the problem?
Just found this problem out 2 nites ago when I drove the corolla out from the back to the front.

Buy a new battery. Your sister did nothing, the battery is probably old.
If it is the alternator, there would be a light on the dash telling you the battery isn't charging. And they usually make a lot of noise when they go bad.
The starter could be the problem, tap gently it with a hammer or wrench, and it should work, if that is it. In my experience starters spin without turning over the motor when they go bad.
The other option is to just push-start the thing when you want to use it. I did that with a car for around 3 months once.
