I was trying to put the car in 1st gear with the clutch in. I did not intend to use 1st gear to slow down further, I was already only going 5mph.
I was basically coming to a stop with the brakes and clutch in and tried the put the car in first at 10mph.. It wouldnt let me.

It would have let you if you rev matched. You should do that in any car to prevent wear of the synchros.
rev-matching in that situation would do nothing for syncro wear. Besides rev-matching without double clutching does nothing for syncro wear, all it does is reduce the shock/upset of the cars balance when you release the clutch. It may also prevent a valve floating into a piston in really extream downshift situations on some cars.

I think what he is saying is that he was just putting the car in 1st in preparation for a stop, with no intention of letting the clutch back out until he was ready to go again.

I rev match all the way down in order into 2nd gear. I never use 1st to engine brake.

I like the new genesis coupe. It's kind of like a 240sx with a detuned SR20. I'd say this car has plenty of potential for the drift world, and I'd definitely take the 2.0t over the V6 for that very reason.

I drove the 3.8 Track. It is a very nice car, and for the person that said it's just a hyundai, please go shoot yourself. We just drive Honduhs after all. The 3.8 has a very nice grunt and until 5k revs, the motor is making more power than the vq37vhr. The ecu is tuned completely pussy from the factory and the car has proven to reach 300 whp with basic bolt ons. The 2.0t as well have have shown to reach +300whp with very few mods. I was blown away that hyundai (a car that made junk even in the late 90s) has created something like this. A perfect balance between sporty and luxury while keeping the costs WAY down. You drive this car and say that the tranny is your biggest gripe is FAIL. You drive an s2k. Even ferrari owners are envious of our trannies. The only thing that the genesis needs to get over is their ruined image from the 80s and 90s.
