Default Test Drove a 350z and G35...

I really wasn't all that impressed. It didn't feel as fast as I thought it would. My friend drove it after I did and said the same stuff about it. I'm not saying that the 350 isn't as fast as everyone says, it just doesn't feel like it. I did like the shifting in it though, seemed really smooth. I went by an Infiniti dealership too and the salesman talked so much crap about the G35 coupe. Telling me that an s2000 had nothing on the G35. The only problem was that he didn't even know that the s2000 was a manual, so I don't think he even knew what kind of car it is. I had a question about the G35 though, he told me that 3rd gear was really long and that it went all the way to 120?? It seems to me that going to 120 would make it slower, since you would be in 3rd for so long? I liked the G35 but after dealing with this guy I could care less about going up there again. I ended up telling him that I would bring the s2000 by to race him one day.

Same AT and 6spd as the Z car. This is the first time in a long time Infiniti has had any good cars so the salesman dosen't know how to contain himself!

So does anyone know if the 120mph in 3rd is true? I was just wondering if that was right.

That salesman, like most car salesmen, was full of shit and totally unknowledgeable about the product he's selling.

According to the April issue of Car & Driver these are the maximum speeds attainable in each of the six gears of the G35 coupe:

1 - 38
2 - 62
3 - 89
4 - 114
5 - 144
6 - 155

So you would need to be in fifth gear to hit 120 mph.

I believe the longer the gear ratio is the longer you stay in that gear and the slower you will accelerate in that gear. Correct me if I'm wrong.

The original Q45 got great reviews when it first came out. But that's about it until recently.
