test drove 07 3.5 altima w/CVT
my friend and I were at the local nissan dealer today (he has an 03 350z and is obsessed w/ nissans) and there was a 07 altima 3.5l VQHR with a CVT tranny and we drove it and damn these econo full size sedans are getting nice!!! i belive it has 270 hp and that cvt was suprisingly responsive. Deffinitly a HUGE improvement over the previous models. just thought i would let u guys know if the S4 pops out as my DD then im seriously going to consider the new alti.

well i had a 2004 v6 6speed for about 7 months and loved it but unless the new accord comes out soon this altima deff. drives better than my accord did which pretty much is same as the new ones! i love hondas but the new altima drives pretty well.

The new Altima Sedan is a very impressive car.
I have to say, if I were in the market for a sedan, as of right now the Altima for me is a winner over the Accord. I have posted the specs for back seat room in the altima many times, if you look it up you will find there is more leg rom back there than you will find in a regular BMW 7-series...
And yes, the pictures flatten out the shape too much, the rear is especially aggresive in person.

I like the coupe, but the pics of the 08 Accord sedan look really nice to me. The ALtima sedan is a decent car but kind of boring styling IMHO.
Whats the HWY MPG of the CVT?

I have lots of seat time in a Murano, and for the life of me I can't get used to the CVT. I keep waiting for the thing to shift and it does not really, and then when you mash it, it seems so weird for the tach to go up to the top and just stay there not moving as the speedometer continues to climb.
I guess I'm a bit like your friend, I'm obsessed with Nissans, oh, and feel free to tease him, let him know I have the biggest engine in the fleet, the mighty 5.6 V8 with 317 ponies and 385 foot pounds.
Altima - 3.5L V6
Horsepower- 270 @ 6,000 RPM
Torque- 258 @ 4,400 RPM
Compression ratio- 10.3
Maximum engine speed- 6,600 RPM

Max. Rear Leg Room, in. 36.7
2007 7-series
Max. Rear Leg Room, in. 37.2
2007 Altima
Max. Rear Leg Room, in. 39.5
Not sure how much more bluntly i can put it. Oh wait, yes I can, Nimesh, since I went to school 37.2 waas bigger than 36.7 and 39.5 was bigger than both.
