Tesla Model S
Now I know there have been threads about this before but I was just looking at the latest articles.

The specs are not bad and I kind of like the uniqeuness and premise behind an electric car. I know I have professed to be too cheap to buy a car over $40k on this board, but the price is not that bad considering it looks like a nice car, performs well and will be very cheap to fuel and maintain.
Anybody else like it?

As promised it looks like a game changing car. Now if Tesla can deliver on even half of what they promise. How did these guys qualify for auto industry bail out funds?

As promising as it looks it will likely have trouble with the two issues all electrics have... range and recharge time.
The 'brochure' range of 300 miles is fine if I can get that with a heavy foot and the heater on... I bet you cannot. And recharge with the convenience of a fuel fill up is even more unlikely.
Not ready for prime time in the foreseeable future.
