A tease of new NSX
#21
It looks good for what it is. It's not a convertible sports car like the S, so it really doesn't interest me. If money were no object and I had garage space, then maybe I'd put it in my stable. But to "trade up" from the S to the NSX is not desirable for me. I love the S as it is. The NSX is too far out of my budget to even give it a second thought.

Electronic hybrid is the wrong choice for an S2000 replacement.

A photo of the new NSX doing a lap at the Mid- Ohio Indy 200" Acura just released a statement saying that the new NSX prototype "maintains the styling and proportions of the NSX Concept that debuted at the 2012 North American International Auto Show in Detroit while packaging the production vehicle’s mid-mounted V-6 engine mated to Acura's innovative new three-motor Sport Hybrid SH-AWD (Super Handling All Wheel Drive) system."

Being a big NSX fan I do have to admit if given the choice of La Ferrari or the new NSX (assuming same cost).....I would definitely go with the Ferrari...

I still prefer the look of the old NSX.

The La Ferrari and The new NSX are not even comparable. The La Ferrari is not only 10 times the price but possibly the best production car ever made

As for people cross-shopping 918s and La Ferraris and NSX's, anyone who can afford the Porsche or Ferrari could likely also pick up an NSX just on a whim for the fun of it or its rarity. Many people in that wealth situation aren't actually scratching their heads over which one to afford, so the term "cross shopping" might not be applicable.

^^exactly. they would buy the NSX for their 16 y.o. kid
As for an s2k replacement, skip the hybrid stuff, turbos, and v-6. Just give me a f22c updated with DI and i-vtec. I'd be OK with a fairly priced, parts-bin special, rwd convertible. Heck, resurrect the chassis, it's still great. This time, make it available in a fixed hard top as well to open the market to more buyers. Voila - BRZ, genesis, miata, mustang, etc competitor.

given the choice of going with a Ford Pinto or a F458, assuming the same cost, I'd go with Ferrari.
