" Acura just released a statement saying that the new NSX prototype "maintains the styling and proportions of the NSX Concept that debuted at the 2012 North American International Auto Show in Detroit while packaging the production vehicle’s mid-mounted V-6 engine mated to Acura's innovative new three-motor Sport Hybrid SH-AWD (Super Handling All Wheel Drive) system."

Nice to see some progress.
But honestly, with its rumored price tag I really don't have much interest in this vehicle beyond what it might mean for a potential S2000 successor. (For example, a two-seat, 3000 lbs, FR, direct-inject turbo I4 2.4L, Sport Hybrid SH-AWD with combined 320 hp, available in both 6MT and 7DCT, coupe and convertible, would be awesome at $45 to $50k USD. Such a combination is unrealistic I'm sure, but a man can dream...)

A 2.4 liter twin-turbo DI V6 spinning to 8000rpm with 300 hp at 7300 repm would be nice... And yes, as a coupe - to maximize which locations and organizations will allow it on track.

2.4L with two turbos and DI ONLY making 300 hp? Since when did we lose expectations of F20C power/displacement on any s2000 successor? I bet DI alone could get a modern redesigned f20 to 300 hp... in NA form. Low end torque doesn't matter on track so much. Just that upper 1/3 of the power band if you care about area under the curve.

I predicated my 2.4L TT V6 daydream on small, minimal-lag turbos, to give an immediacy feel as close as possible to the NA engine, while yielding a flat as substantial torque curve. (To be honest, after having recently acquired a car with a DI turbo-4, I quite like it. Especially here at 5000 ft, where the S2000 feels rather sluggish compared to my previous 500 ft elevation. If I could drop my BMW's N20 into my S2000 and extend the rev range to at least 8000 I'd be ecstatic. Actually, to daydream a bit more, I'd prefer a 2.2L DI TT V6 revving to 9000 rpm assuming the turbo lag could be managed... )

Nice! Looks like it is rocking some TE37s in that photo or something similar. Just hope the production wheels are nothing like that initial concept. Car designers always try to make wheels look overly futuristic.

I still prefer the v10 concept they had 5 years ago now give or take
This thing is going to have such a small market I wouldn't be surprised if they don't bother releasing it all together..
