If you don't need AWD, then consider '07-'08 G35S sedan or '09 and up G37S sedan
They are available with 6MT, over 300hp V6, plenty of comfort, enough room for the baby seat in the back, I happened to love how it looks.
The '09 and up are a little heavier, but have some upgrades as well
If you must have AWD, the G35/G37 is always available with X (AWD) + S (sports pack)

Didn't get a chance to read all the replies.. but if you need a reason not to get a GR STi --- RINGLAND FAILURE.
75k mi on my STi, stage 1 intake/ots 93 octane, bms tune, heavily abused, no problems.

07+ are fine as long as you run a pro-tune. All of the model years of the US EJ257 engines are virtually the same anyway. The TUNE is going to be the biggest factor for most people in the case of engine failures.

Right, but when shopping used, it's hard to know how long the car will last.

I've got more than a few 07 STi's tuned from 19 - 22 PSI (gas - E85) running very well and not blowing ring lands. The 2007 ECU has many random tables that damn near no other STi has, of any year has. Once you get them all figured out and disable many of them, it makes it much easier to run like a prior year STi. It's annoying to see them target Stoich at nearly peak boost!

The truth. Met many protuned/ots cars and motors have popped. That was my #1 worry when I had my GR STI. Looking back at it, it really prevented me from pushing the car more often. The WRX/STI are fun cars but it never put a smile on my face like the s2000 does on the track.

My 08 with 50k miles and a protune spun a bearing 24hrs after I sold it. No ringland issues though
