Supra TT reliability?
Still debating on my next project car.............Supra is on the list but I'd like to know how reliable a used TT is? I've been reading up on MKIV and Supra forums but no threads on normal relaibility, besides your basic day to day issues etc.
I'm sure a Supra is a huge step up in reliability compared to an Rx-7 FD but I'd like to know personal s2k owner experiances. If the FD was reliable it would've been an instant buy.

^^ What he said! In stock form, it was reliable. Once modded, who knows. Good luck finding a decent one! What's your budget?
I agree, I've read of some supras being built up, ridden to shit and raced and then parts taken off to stock, cleaned up and being sold. Kind of like the EVO world.........but still trying to learn about reliability of a 10-14 year old Turbo car who is in stock or lightly modded form.

Your question is a bit odd considering the Supra hasn't been sold here in almost 10 years now and it's a safe bet that just about all of them out there have been ragged out quite a bit. The engine offers a phenomenal building block and there is obviously a huge aftermarket for them. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Buying a BPU would be fine. Mine was great until I went single then I started blowing engines, but it was mainly my fault for trying to tune it on the road or forget cranking down the boost when I put in regular gas. Like mentined above do a leak downtest and check for any signs of oil anywhere, smoke in the exhaust or a sheen of oil/fuel near the tail pipe. The best advice is drive the car. Make sure it is smooth and you don't feel or hear anything strange.
