I wanna know why the supra isn't all that.
I know the stock motor can handle 1000hp (or so claimed)
but... I just remember a 400 hp supra is just as quick as a 600hp supra in the quarter...
I'm not an expert on rear suspensions or how power is delivered to drag cars, but why would it be so bad?
If you had to drag a car would you get a supra or a mustang cobra?

Hmm, didnt hear about the whole 12sec and 11 sec jokes, but I always find it funny how the fwd folks criticise others for traction issues, lol.

The Supra actually handles great with a skid pad rating of .96G from the factory (turbo). Also, "hooking" depends on how wide of a tire you're running and how much power you're making.
The shirt was a joke because all you see on YouTube is a bunch of people with high powered Supra's going in a straight line racing other high powered cars and motorcycles.

Poor driving mixed with larger turbos with lag combined with a 6-speed? Bad, slow launches with crappy ETs but loads of top end so decent MPH.
You had a ton of kids (not enough practice and/or drag experience) buying Supras, bolting on a bunch of poorly engineered mods that resulted in massive peak power. So in a 6-speed car you either bogged badly off the line, or wound it up and blew out the tires.
I have a Supra shirt with '700 HP Club' on it (it was a shirt the guys at T04r.com did up)

Regardless, the Supra's 2JZ and Skyline's RB26 engines were awesome and durable. The Skyline's 2.6L was not much larger than the S2000's 2.2L, but much more potent and durable.

The RB26 may be similar in size to the Honda 2.2L but the weight isn't even close. There is a reason the RB can handle high power... lot's of iron. The weight I saw quoted was ~250kg. That's 670lbs! And LS7 motor is around 450lbs and even the old "heavy" iron V8s like the L89 was ~560lb and the LT5 ZR1 DOHC V8 was ~630lb. So while the RB can make impressive power out of only 2.6L it weighed A LOT and the power to weight wasn't all that. The story for the 2JZ is similar.

It's not about ... being dyno queens, etc. It's because many of them had large single turbos that had massive lag
The Supras that led to the stereotype made big peak power numbers but had absurd power curves that made them less than stellar from a stop. The fact that the graphic on the shirt shows the power curve going crazy seems pretty self explanatory.
I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you, rather I'm pointing out that your disagreeing statement is just restating the same thing in different terms, less the suspension part which is a valid point.
