Subaru WRX/STi reliability
Having only owned Hondas all my life do any of you have any insights into the reliability of Subaru WRXs/STis's? Living in Toronto I really like the all-weather aspect of the Subaru but am a bit concerned with reliability. Any Subaru experiences?

I've had my WRX for almost 2 years now...and it has taken my abuse trouble free. The main thing has been interior rattles which seems to be consistent from car to car...dash and door panels. For the price I paid for the car (WRX Wagon, moded) it served the purpose very well. I am happy with the performance on the track, how much gear it holds for me to go racing, (4 wheels/race tires, 5 cans of 5 gallon race fuel, tool box, driving gear, change of cloth for 3 days, jack, jack stands, air can, 2 5 gallon empty fuel cans, mountain bike on roof and other crap and the front passenger seat is still empty.) I also drive the snot out of the car on the street and so far 33000 miles and not a hiccup.
On the other hand, my 01 S has no rattles, and neither does my 91 NSX...which were both better quality than the 98 Boxster I had...I do have very stiff suspension on the WRX...
Basically, I am happy with it even thought it rattles since every thing else has been good to me.

I'll go along with pierceman. Subaru puts on some big Subaru only type autocross events. I have never heard of a Subbie not going home from one of these events under it's own power. In a couple of weeks I'll be driving a modded WRX several hundred miles to an event. I'm not in the least bit worried about it not bringing me back home.

Didn't consumer reports rate Subaru as #1 most reliable manufacturer, with Toyota and Honda behind?
Subaru is pure japanese and has been around longer than toyo/honda havent they?(this really doesnt mean anything but i was just wondering).
