Subaru F1 Engine
Found this:
It's a Subaru Formula 1 Flat-12 engine!
Here's the stats:
Engine con fig - flat 12
Bore x stroke - 84mm x 52.6mm
Capacity - 3498cc
Compression ratio - 11.5:1
Estimated power - 600bhp @ 12,500rpm (compare this to the Honda V10 in the McLaren which is quoted as 690bhp)
Max rpm - 13,000
Engine weight - 159kg
Fuel - Agip
Spark plugs - Champion
Transmission - Subaru 6 speed
Clutch - AP
It was made for F1 back in the early '90s, but I don't know anything else about it

I think Porsche has already done that trick.
Took a look at the performance numbers for the old 917/30. This is a race car, but the numbers are pretty impressive for a car than ran 30 years ago:
0-60 2.1 Sec
0-100 3.9 Sec
0-200 13.4 Sec

Did some research, and...
In 1990 the Subaru 3.5 B12 was in the back of the Colini FC-189B, with a team that had entered about 50 grand prixs over six seasons and never scored a single point. Previously the team had used Cosworth customer engines. Sadly the record with Bertrand Gachot (the same guy who later, because he was arrested for macing a police officer landed in jail and would miss the 1992 Belgium Grand Prix, handing Michael Schumacher his first F1 with Jordan...) driving it never actually started a race...
Pheonix 1990 -did not pre-qualify
Brazil 1990 -did not pre-qualify
San Marino 1990 -did not pre-qualify
Monte Carlo 1990 -did not pre-qualify
Canada 1990 -did not pre-qualify
Mexico 1990 -did not pre-qualify
France 1990 -did not pre-qualify
Great Britain 1990 -did not pre-qualify
Pretty dismal. But the car was a dud as well as the engine. Compared to teams like Ferrari, Williams-Renault and McLaren-Honda and drivers like Senna, Prost, and Mansell they never stood a chance.
Subaru is barely a footnote in Formula One history...but thankfully they found their purpose elsewhere
