That rear end looks like an overwrought body kit to me, a little too boy-racerish.

I think I might be getting old. Or my taste has just gone upmarket.

Meh, if they keep the 200hp range what is the point? People been wanting more power not a huge wing and an STI badge.

i'm thinking the same thing. i'd swap out the rear for a stock rear & ditch those tails. the front end & cockpit look pretty nice, but maybe my tastes are a little more mature these days. i think stripped down & simple is so much hotter than boy racer.

give me a plain s2k w/suspension, wheels, & maybe FI and call it a day. or i could go for a cayman with or without wheels.

Lol...you've pretty much described what's currently parked in my garage. Great minds?

This car does need a bit more power but it's a great vehicle. No turbo. NA all Day

You might not say that after blowing the motor at the track....

I have no idea what the quoted text is saying. Crowd out their own aftermarket parts? What?
Translated: We want to get more money for bolt-on crap vs letting the aftermarket take it. So, the purpose of this 'STI' is just to sell parts.
Yeah I just don't get it. A whole LOT of owners are adding forced induction to their BRZs for $5000+ (including this guy, lol). I feel like that's money that Subaru would want.

I stopped wondering/caring a while ago though. Even if they sold a turbocharged one I'm sure the reliability would be suspect. I'd also be paranoid of Subaru not honoring the factory warranty if the engine blew at a track event.

very nice pair. it would be amazing if there was a honda, acura, hyundai(?) cayman fighter. i love the cayman, but even if my salary tripled i'm not sure i could spend that much coin on a "fun" car. it probably doesn't help that i'm a tight wad & would need to close my eyes for the service invoices from porsche.
