Subaru 216A (subaru version of FT-86) confirmed!

Call me a skeptic, but that information is from 7tune, which is FAR from an official press release.
While the car does sound appealing, I wouldn't put too much stock in this until you hear something from Subaru or Toyota.

What, Subaru can make the car look that good?
And like what above said, how is this confirmed?

I soo called it the only way this car would ever exist in the states would be in an AWD form
Pretty cool in that case though I would consider getting one of those for Monica maybe

Of course the Subie version will have a terrible plastic interior, seats from a pickup, and no radio, as well as hot pink STI decals and 8 inches of ground clearance.

Unless I was up north, I'd still probably take the Toyota unless the Subaru is significantly more sporting. I don't want AWD unless I absolutely need it. 220 lbs more (100 kg) is a lot and I'd prefer to have a lighter car all day long.
I'm wondering if this would replace the WRX STi completely, since they are very similar dimensionally? If so, you can expect $30K+ for the price tag.

looks like subie wants to keep the parts as interchangeable as possible, great move. Like I said before, the one that comes with the turbo first will peak my interest. I love subes, I just wished they made a coupe, so this def gets me going. ihowever I do prefer rwd to awd mostly cuz of the simplicity and weight, so if toyota comes out with a turbo version I'll jump on that.
