affordable is relative. I feel that it is already very affordable for what it is. I already see 25-30 Beemers a day.

Or, unless you just have to have a brand new car, buy used
I like the three series....I just think that it's the image car of choice lately among urbanites.
The last three series that I liked was the body design that shared the 240 hp M3 body. I don't know the chassis code or model designations.

Here in Europe they sell the Audi S3, along with the A3 line, and even smaller A2 and S2 cars!
