STI or EVo8

I'd wait until the '05 models of each come out and make a decision based on how refined each one is. (Both cars IMO have little "first year" nags like every car that probably will be sorted out for the next year run.)

With the EVO8 at 19.5 PSI stock boost, I don't know how much more boost it can handle from upgrades before the engine gives way

Tough choice if you ask me but I would go with STI

The 4G63 is one tuff cookie. It's not uncommon to see 500HP from one of these bad boys. Like posted above, the Mitsu guys are making more HP and cheaper since the engine is so proven. It's quite easy to make over 300whp from the EVO and pretty damn hard for the subie. But like also noted, the subie looks better on paper, it's the electronics and smallish turbo that hurt it now, two things that tuner will eventually tackle. In the end I still think the EVO will be more tuner friendly.

I had the ability to but any of the 3 cars listed a few months back.
I got to autoX an EVO really hard (1 cone away from winning the street tire class in a field of about 30 cars) and it's a blast to drive no doubt. But I felt the interior let down the rest of the car. The front seats are great, the rest of the interior is a definate Ho hum.
I never got to drive an STi, (Dealers were polite but firm on the no test drive deal) but the exterior styling is something that I just haven't warmed to yet, and the wife really doesn't like the way it looks. But the interior is much better put together than the EVO.
In the end, all 3 cars offer incredible performance for the money, but I felt the S2K was what I wanted, and I feel for more comfortable making payments on the car for a few years VS. either of the other two. The idea of owning a highly boosted car for more than a few years just scares me from a reliability standpoint.
