Who cares what its top speed is? 250-280 is all the same in the real world. Who is ever going to really drive their car that fast? If I was a buyer, I would be more worried about acceleration, road holding, braking, and safety. Creature comforts and practicality would be tie breakers. A slight difference in top speed between the cars wouldn't even enter into my decision. Thats like buying a Gulfstream solely because its 10 knots faster than a Leer.

WTF am I reading!? Too much power and speed? From $1+ million supercars? Did I stumble onto a Prius board?
Two totally different cars engaged in an age-old battle of "mine is bigger than yours" that benefits car lovers by raising the bar and forcing the creation of new technologies? Sounds right to me
The SSC (based on the stated power-weight ratio) should be between 2800-2900 lbs. It should be an absolute beast of a machine. I think the Veyron is a joke personally...maybe as a tourer, but no real sports car meant to go around turns quickly or stop consistently from race speeds should weigh two tons (imho).

am I wrong, or does light weight actually work against you at extremely high speeds, because if you have lighter weight you need more downforce to keep the car on the ground, and more dowforce means more drag?
