One factor in the SLS Black Series vs. F12 decision is exclusivity. The Black Series will have rarity on its side.
I also think it's cool that the SLS Black Series has more of a motorsport connection. In 2012 the SLS took both the FIA GT1 and GT3 championships, beating the likes of Ferrari, McLaren and Porsche.

Just saw this this morning.
SLS AMG black to start at $275k. STARTING price.
For that price. I'd rather get a Ferrari F12 Berlinetta....which is around $300k...

I'd have a hard time picking that car over a 458.
F12 is another $70-100K over the SLS-B. Hard to compare.

Purposeful and functional looking, yes. Gorgeous, no. The Viper is a much more sculpted and attractive shape. The SLS looks more like a flat slab with scoops and flares, and with a cabin that looks kinda like a helmet. The Viper looks just as brutal, but a lot more shapely.

This x10. I'd much rather have a car with a proper manual then the paddle shifters. you can say they shift faster or are better around a track or whatever but the thrill shifting with a clutch cant be matched. if i was a blue collar guy like i am id get the viper(even though i could never afford it). if i was a rich business man id go for the benz.
