I don't know how true this is or isn't so take it with a gain of salt. Supposely there will be 3 GT-R variants...

The entire article addresses the lineage of the Skyline. Starting with the R32, the talk about the improvements and then go on to talk about the changes to the GT-R since the GT-R is another model in the Skyline lineup.
