I'd own and drive that in a heartbeat. Love those cars!

Anyone have experience with an R8? I saw a bunch around 70K in manual that look interesting. Could be an investment worthy pick.

I would suggest BMW 1M only 740 made in the U.S.

or BMW M Coupe with the S54 engine. Only 678 made in the U.S.

Both are so much fun to drive and go up in value each year.and you'll never see another one at your local Cars & Coffee. I own both.

if you like Honda's then I think you can't go wrong with an NSX . I currently have a blue 2005 NSX and before that I had a 1995 NSX for many years.

Neither of those cars are doing it for me, sorry.

I could see an NSX, but I want something newer; like 2005+ minimum. My better half has been talking about an '14 Qporte Maserati. I think the GTS would be a keeper being a V8. Prices are very attractive right now for such a nice looking car.

Late model Maserati cars have not been holding value well. I would not put them in the investment category.

I would put them in the "lose your ass" category

A 70K R8 is a V8 R8 which is slow as balls for that kind of car. My M2 is faster in a straight line. I'd get a 997 turbo in that price range.

x2, a 997.1 C2S is just as quick and costs half as much.

Manual R8s are less common, though, even though it's a V8. Those types of cars (manual transmission in a "supercar", even a "junior" supercar) seem to be what are being more valued as the industry moves toward DCT in everything "fast"...

That is my mindset as well. I don't care if some other car is faster or what have you. I want it physically engaging and visual joy. I want a beautiful car that is fun to drive and has a design & build of inherent quality. Manual is a priority for most of my choices so far. An automatic would make it available for my gf to drive, but she has her own car. Just kind of sucks if we go out and that means I have to do all the driving...
