Default "Sports Car International" Mag's 10 Best

The January issue of "Sports Car International" lists the editors' choice for the 10 Best Sports Cars of the '00s...

From the top:
1) Carerra GT
2) Ford GT
3) Enzo
4) Pagani Zonda
5) Elise
6) Boxster S & GT3 (tie)
8) Gallardo & Murcielago (tie)
10) WRX

The S2000 is missing from the list. Of the six editors, only one mentioned it, and he puts it in 10th place, behind the G35 coupe.

It does better in the readers' lists, coming in eighth out of 10 - here, the Elise grabs top honors.

So, what do you think? I believe time will be good to this car. It'll never have the cult-like

devotion accorded, say, the 911, but it's a unique, uncompromising machine. I was surprised it didn't do better in the rankings.

Well, I could see the S2000 winning if there was a monetary limit involved. I know that the Elise does a heck of a lot for the money, barely more $$$ than the S2000 even, but the Elise has a bit of an exotic air about it which I'm sure probably vaulted it ahead of the S2k in the rankings.

I don't own an S2k, but I've riddern in one and have wanted one ever since, so to me it should at the very least get an honorable mention as a sidebar.

Just goes to show you that most editors smoke crack....WRX 10th It's a farging sedan,no doubt a very fast sedan but a sedan not a sports car

That looks like a top 10 list from a 17 year old boy. Why don't they actually give us a useful list - perhaps by keeping the price under $150K. Do they actually get paid to make a silly list like this?

its 10 best sports cars, not 10 best sports cars under 150g....i agree the wrx shouldnt be on there but just because other cars cost alot of money dosnet mean they shouldnt be ranked...their job was most likely to assemble a list of THE best sports cars, no monetary exceptions, just because the s2k isnt on there dosent mean its not valid..i like the car too but oh well...besides, the boxster s and the elise made it showing its not all exotics

look at the caliber of cars on this list. Then notice that they placed the elise before A. the Boxster S & GT3 and B. Gallardo & Murcielago. Maybe it would be possible if price was factored into the decision but then you look at 1-4 and you realize its not. This list is complete garbage . The Elise might posses some aspects of being exotic but once you look under the hood, you find a celica engine. Nothing exotic about that. And the clincher was the WRX at 10. Dont get me wrong, i'm a fan of the wrx but looking at this list reminds me of that song, "one of these things just doesn't belong here, one of these things just isn't the same.... yada yada yada..."

How does the WRX make the list with the M3/M3 CSL nowhere to be found?

loos like a top 10 wish list, not a best list. also, i noticed a trend in mags like Motor Trend, R&T etc. that whenever they have a new sports car, they don't compare it to the S2K anymore. Now, everything's compared to the new Mustang, G35 coupe etc. For ex., i just got that little AAA Car & Travel mag in the mail the other day and they review the RX8. It's competitors are Audi TT, 350Z, G35 coupe and Mitsubishi Eclipse??? hello, what happened to the S2K?!?!?

Well, _WE_ all know the truth. . .

Fewere top 10 lists=lower dealer prices.

Time to go buy a second one.
